WHAT MAKES THERMO-TREATED SHINGLES SIDING SO SPECIAL?

Premium Thermally Modified Shingles Siding offers a shingles design with a unique off-white color. This siding is durable for 25 years due to the thermo-treatment process. The siding is made from SYP and the painting technic allows to accents a variety of wood grains.

The boards are covered with a double oil-based paint which is rated for outdoor applications.

Installation is simple: just nail it to the existing wood or plywood surface (or add horizontal furring wood strips).  The individual shingles are about 16" long considering that the overlapping will be 4" and the free end is 12".

INSTALLATION TIPS

  • Cut it, sand it, nail it, drill it, paint or stain it as you would practically any standard-grade lumber, using the same standard tools.

  • Take into consideration, that thermo-treated wood is drier (4% EMC), lighter in weight, and a little more brittle than non-treated wood.

  • Use outdoor-rated nails or screws. Use finishing nails through the face when needed.

  • On the picture is the idea of overlapping.

  • Saw speed will have an effect on the cut quality; generally, the higher the saw power, the better the cut quality.

  • Consider that the recommended overlapping 4" might be variable depends on the height of the covering area. I.e. you may adjust overlapping to make it over or a little less than 4" if needed to adjust to the size of your wall.. Example: if your wall is 7'-6", you may expect to fit 8 lines, so each line should have 11-1/4" free end to fit 8 lines in the wall of 7'-6" high.
